Work
- Building out SonarSource’s go-to-market data models. Right now that means the semantic layer, standardized on the Open Semantic Interchange (OSI).
- Taking select consulting work: data pipelines and modeling, governance cleanup, BI cost reduction.
- Figuring out how to actually use AI in my work, past the hype. I think it’s where things are going, and I’m a little worried about where that leaves me.
Building
- This site, rebuilt from scratch on Rails 8 and Hotwire. See /colophon.

Learning
- Entity resolution for work: reconciling an enterprise CRM, a self-serve CRM, Stripe, and product usage data so the same customer resolves to one record in the data lake.
- The Open Semantic Interchange (OSI) standard — declarative YAML for metrics, dimensions, and joins, shared across tools.
- Designing Data-Intensive Applications (re-read, slowly).
- Postgres logical replication and the trade-offs vs. trigger-based CDC.
- Domain-Driven Design, and how to convince people it’s a good idea.
Training
- Down from a 321 lb peak. Stuck around 285 since August, and up a few pounds since. Two weeks in Maui is where it went sideways. Now getting the cut moving again.
- Five lifting days, one HIIT day, and one active-recovery/refeed day. Schedule on /health.
- Next goal: under 10% body fat and 270 lb by 2027.
